Artist's Statement
I'm deeply drawn to the art of printmaking, where my emotions find expression on a tangible canvas through a blend of technique and intuition. My work is a reflection of my love for this tactile process.
Exploring the rich tapestry of local Irish folklore is a central theme in my art. I aim to breathe new life into ancient stories, connecting past and present in my prints. Additionally, I delve into the poignant narrative of emigration from Ireland, capturing the emotions of departure and the search for identity in a new land.
Time, an ever-present force, plays a silent role in my work. The layers in my prints symbolize the passage of time, creating a visual dialogue between tradition and innovation. Through my art, I invite viewers to reflect on the enduring themes of printmaking, folklore, emigration, and the profound march of time.
