Teaching Placements

Over the course of my studies at NCAD, I have been fortunate enough to engage in three teaching placements. During these placements,  I have had the opportunity to teach a wide range of content, to diverse groups of learners.

Teaching Philosophy

My art teaching philosophy revolves around fostering inclusive education that accommodates diverse needs and backgrounds.

I prioritize core values of empathy and honesty, creating a safe and supportive environment where students feel understood and valued.

I firmly believe in the transformative power of art, not only as a means of self-expression but also as a tool for personal growth and understanding.

In my classroom, I celebrate and encourage individuality, recognizing that each student brings a unique perspective that enriches the overall learning experience.

St. Oliver Post Primary, Oldcastle

My final placement, in the last year of my degree. A mixed school, producing students of exemplary academic prowess, with a huge emphasis on wellbeing. One of the most transformative periods of my life, this placement concreted my belief that teaching was the right career path for me - and allowed me to grow as an educator in ways I had never thought possible.

Loreto College Mullingar

My second placement, during my third year in NCAD took place in Loreto College Mullingar. Loreto is an all girls school, with exceptionally high standards for its students - creating an extremely engaged and productive learning environment.

My first placement was during the second year of my degree. I completed this placement in Palmerstown community school, in Dublin. I worked with a group of first-year students to complete stop motion animations.
